Included as a bonus CDr to the 2009 vinyl pressing of HALL OF FAME'S second album, "First Came Love, Then Came the Tree" a decade after it was first released, "Live at the Mercury Paw 8/24/98" is now available for the first time as a stand-alone release. The 40-minute performance was recorded at the now-defunct Louisville, KY nightclub, The Mercury Paw. It stands as a testament to a band who had perfected their live craft. The performance, like all at the time, seamlessly weaves in and out of floating improvisations and their avant rock song craft.
Hall of Fame existed from 1996 through the early 2000s. They released their first two full-lengths and a seven-inch on Amish Records, a subsequent full-length for Siltbreeze, a posthumous album on the Social Registry and a number of 7"s and live albums in-between. The group was comprised of three musicians who have gone on to create a significant body of solo material and collaborations: Samara Lubelski has had multiple solo albums on The Social Registry (plus releases on Eclipse, Destijl, Child of Microtones, among others). She has also played in incarnations of Tower Recordings and Metabolismus, recorded and toured with Thurston Moore and collaborated with a host of other artists. After Hall of Fame broke up, Theo Angell toured with Jackie O'Motherfucker and has gone on to release three solo albums (Polyamory, Amish and Digitalis). Theo also works in the visual arts and has done music videos for JOM, Samara Lubelski, Exceptor and others. Dan Brown recorded one incredible album of solo percussion for Amish, "Inner Boroughs". He lives and works in California and plays in an experimental duo called Metal Animals
